Summary

Inspector Danny Hayes has something very important to ask his boyfriend Tristan Everett。 Over the past six months they’ve survived reapers, chaos monsters, and biblical storms, not to mention averting an apocalypse。 So, what’s left to do but pop the big question?

Tristan is ready for a break from world-saving, spectral crises, and most definitely from ghosts。 He wants some one-on-one time with his boyfriend, preferably horizontally。 So when the incredibly thoughtful aforementioned boyfriend books a romantic New Year’s getaway at a quiet little hotel in the wilds of the north Yorkshire moors and away from London, Tristan can’t wait。

But as usual nothing ever goes according to plan。 Snowed in during an unexpected murder mystery weekend at what turns out to be one of the most haunted hotels in Northern England is not what they had in mind, but when one of the actors turns up really dead not just fake dead, they once again find themselves caught up in another investigation。

With only one night to figure out who the killer is while wrangling a multitude of overly helpful ghosts, Tristan begins to wonder if romance really is dead…

I love Tristan and Danny!!! BothTristan and Danny are ready for a break together, after saving the world these two deserve a break! Beside Danny has something important to ask Tristan, he is ready for the next step on their lifes! He is ready to pop the question, I was so excited to see how Danny is going to propose! Tristan is overwhelmed with his work and wants some one-on-one time with his boyfriend, so they decided for a romantic New Year’s getaway at a little hotel in the North Yorkshire。 N I love Tristan and Danny!!! Now they are snowed in and they have to endure a murder mystery weekend at the hotel and say hotel turns out to be one of the most haunted hotels! And once again they find themselves in another investigation with a murder and more ghosts and always is something that interrupts Danny when he is about to ask Tris the important question… it’s funny how poor Danny is about to propose and something happen and we have to wait for another chance… Tris, Danny and Dusty find themselves with a lot of crazy ghosts that are a riot! I love this book and this ends with a clue about the next story in the serie! Each book is entertaining and fun, looking forward for the next one! 。。。more

Danny has had a ring burning a hole in his pocket and he's been looking for the perfect way to propose。 He gets as far as "Tristan, will you m-。" before they're interrupted by Tristan being Tristan。 Or by the ghosts in their lives。 Short one pathologist at the morgue which means extra hours and worry for his failing father, Tristan is emotionally and physically exhausted。They go away for a long romantic weekend and encounter a hotel that is beautiful but shabby, quirky employees, quirkier guests Danny has had a ring burning a hole in his pocket and he's been looking for the perfect way to propose。 He gets as far as "Tristan, will you m-。" before they're interrupted by Tristan being Tristan。 Or by the ghosts in their lives。 Short one pathologist at the morgue which means extra hours and worry for his failing father, Tristan is emotionally and physically exhausted。They go away for a long romantic weekend and encounter a hotel that is beautiful but shabby, quirky employees, quirkier guests。 And ghosts。 Lots of oddball ghosts。 Ghosts which make Dusty and Bruce seem mild。 The hotel's first murder mystery weekend is interrupted by an actual murder。 Police can't come out due to the snow。 And everyone wants to help solve the murder, the staff, guests。 And ghosts。This book was an absolute, laugh out loud, blast。 The chemistry between Tristan and Danny is sweet and their sexy times are quite hot。 The secondaries, both living and not, put the comedy in this well written rom-com。It's a quick, fun read。 At 85k, it's not short, but it could be double that and I couldn't get enough。 Book five is set up in the last chapter。 And it looks to be another interesting mystery。I received an advance copy of this book and this is my review。 。。。more

I was fortunate enough to get an eARC of case number 4, and it didn't disappoint。 In fact in might be my favourite so far with the more sensitive side of Danny and Tristan's relationship coming to light。 Danny and Tristan are an adorable couple and in this case we get to see how wonderfully suited they are。 From Tristan supporting Danny through reuniting with his family to Danny's nervous attempts, all hilariously interrupted by ghosts, murder and mayhem, to ask Tristan to marry him。 Dusty's att I was fortunate enough to get an eARC of case number 4, and it didn't disappoint。 In fact in might be my favourite so far with the more sensitive side of Danny and Tristan's relationship coming to light。 Danny and Tristan are an adorable couple and in this case we get to see how wonderfully suited they are。 From Tristan supporting Danny through reuniting with his family to Danny's nervous attempts, all hilariously interrupted by ghosts, murder and mayhem, to ask Tristan to marry him。 Dusty's attempts to celebrate are hilarious and of course, perfectly ill-timed。 Just brilliant!Combine that with a haunted house full of out of control ghosts, and a murder mystery weekend, you should get ready for a bucket load of trouble interspersed with swoony romantic moments。Thoroughly recommend this series。 All the characters are so well rounded, beautifully described and fit perfectly in their place。 If you love steamy MM paranormal romance, then this is the series for you! 。。。more

Tristan and Danny are a year into adjusting to their relationship and Tristan’s affinity for seeing ghosts。 Tristan is extremely happy about him and Danny’s sex life, “Seriously, with the way he moves, the man should come with his own Bee Gees soundtrack。” Danny even wants to propose but the ghost-blocking keeps getting in the way。 Stealing away for a mini vacation isn’t going to make it any better。 All sorts of new ghosts and a …gasp…murder just add to the mayhem。This book was great fun。 More c Tristan and Danny are a year into adjusting to their relationship and Tristan’s affinity for seeing ghosts。 Tristan is extremely happy about him and Danny’s sex life, “Seriously, with the way he moves, the man should come with his own Bee Gees soundtrack。” Danny even wants to propose but the ghost-blocking keeps getting in the way。 Stealing away for a mini vacation isn’t going to make it any better。 All sorts of new ghosts and a …gasp…murder just add to the mayhem。This book was great fun。 More convoluted than usual and it felt like the cast of ghosts was in the hundreds。 “Danny turns to me。 F****** hell, it’s like trying to herd a group half made up of enthusiastic puppies and half of feral cats that hiss and spit。” (He wasn’t wrong)。The author’s imaginative use of costumes adds to the flair of the story。 As does the ring burning a hole in Danny’s pocket。 I have to admit I didn’t see the resolution of this murder coming。Review Copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMGReads。 。。。more

4。5 stars…This fourth book in the series packs a lot of information in and we get some big developments in the overall story arc。 In this particular story Tristan and Danny decide they need time away as hints have been so busy and they are both exhausted。 They plan a weekend away up north in an old hotel that looks like a castle。 They are looking forward to no murder and no ghosts。 Unfortunately, that’s not what they are going to get。There are a lot of backstory developments in this book and the 4。5 stars…This fourth book in the series packs a lot of information in and we get some big developments in the overall story arc。 In this particular story Tristan and Danny decide they need time away as hints have been so busy and they are both exhausted。 They plan a weekend away up north in an old hotel that looks like a castle。 They are looking forward to no murder and no ghosts。 Unfortunately, that’s not what they are going to get。There are a lot of backstory developments in this book and the actual murder and ghosts part doesn’t get started until more than halfway through the book。 But the first part of the book has some emotional and important scenes which are no doubt going to play out more fully in future books。 Some of them are heartwrenching, particularly the scenes with Tristan and his father。 They hit me rather hard as I lost my father to Alzheimer’s s past summer and it’s been particularly tough this Christmas。 The author’s descriptions in those scenes hit very close to home and were well done, albeit tough for me to read。 Then there’s a reunion scene with Danny’s family which is again difficult though also inspiring。The murder mystery and new ghosts to deal with are found at the hotel Danny and Tristan are staying in。 Of course it’s an old castle like place and of course it comes with several resident ghosts。 Tristan has to try and be subtle dealing with them so as not to put himself to the rest of the guests, something that becomes much tougher after an actual body is discovered。 This part of the story is very entertaining and there are some fun characters introduced。 Of course Dusty has also popped in as she’s anticipating a fun celebration。The book ends with a segue to the next book as Dustin rather than Dusty shows up to show Tristan their newest ghost and it does not bode well for the future。 A good cliffhanger leaving us in anticipation of what’s to come。 。。。more

Such ridiculous lives they lead! This book was a mostly fun look at the ridiculousness of Danny and Tristan’s lives。 There was also more about Danny’s family which was intriguing to read about。 The ending set up the next book spectacularly and I can’t wait to read it。 The following was my favorite quote from the book:“Our lives are pretty much all about murder and death。 I don’t really think we should be worried about what other people think。 We’ve literally had Death sitting in our kitchen。 We s Such ridiculous lives they lead! This book was a mostly fun look at the ridiculousness of Danny and Tristan’s lives。 There was also more about Danny’s family which was intriguing to read about。 The ending set up the next book spectacularly and I can’t wait to read it。 The following was my favorite quote from the book:“Our lives are pretty much all about murder and death。 I don’t really think we should be worried about what other people think。 We’ve literally had Death sitting in our kitchen。 We saved the world from an apocalypse and stopped a supernatural entity called Chaos from entering our world through a magic doorway in a bookshop。 Our lives can’t exactly be measured by the same yardstick as everyone else’s。” 。。。more

This series just gets better and better! I thought book 3 would remain my favourite in the series (because Death was just such an unwittingly hilarious character) but this one introduced me to a whole new range of amazing (and funny) secondary characters! I loved everything about this book; it gave me even more brilliant world building, drama, humour, comfort, some tears and of course the sweetness between Danny and Tristan。 I enjoyed the glimpse into Danny's family and I hope we'll see more of This series just gets better and better! Wow。 Did not see that coming! I can't wait for book 5 in the new year and I also hope we get to revisit this bunch of ghosts again at some point。 I'd definitely recommend this book if you like the genre but make sure to start from book 1!I received an ARC and this is my honest review。 。。。more

This is the fourth outing for Tristan and Danny, and this really is best read as part of the series - there's an established relationship and threads reaching through the series, it would be best enjoyed in order。 A new adventure for Tristan, Danny and Dusty is always something I really look forward to and I wasn't disappointed here。 This one is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, to be honest。 It made me both happy and sad, weepy and laughing, yet always entertaining。 There's the ongoing threa This is the fourth outing for Tristan and Danny, and this really is best read as part of the series - there's an established relationship and threads reaching through the series, it would be best enjoyed in order。 A new adventure for Tristan, Danny and Dusty is always something I really look forward to and I wasn't disappointed here。 This one is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, to be honest。 It made me both happy and sad, weepy and laughing, yet always entertaining。 There's the ongoing thread of Tristan and his Dad, plus Danny with his family and then trying to propose to Tristan all through the book, (that's not a spoiler as we find this out very early on), with Tris being gloriously oblivious to that fact。 Add in a drunkenly booked holiday to the most haunted hotel in the middle of Yorkshire with a band of the nuttiest ghosts and guests, an inadvertent murder mystery weekend and you have the recipe for a gloriously nutty romp with an outrageous cast of characters, which honestly is all I'd expect and want from a Dead Serious story。I loved the whole thing, and while the ending made me a little sad, it also served to make me more than a little curious, and as ever I want more from this found family of eccentric characters。 Simply wonderful。 。。。more

Tristan and Danny story was exhilarating, funny, and with unexpected developments that will keep you on your toes。I liked the holidays atmosphere and magic, their teasing and unique gifts, as well as their getaway to some peace and quiet that is thoroughly ruined。I liked their interruptions on important moments, the quirky staff and the boisterous ghosts that crash their time as well as the new victim that cause an impromptu investigation as well as a new mystery to elucidate。 I really liked the Tristan and Danny story was exhilarating, funny, and with unexpected developments that will keep you on your toes。I liked the holidays atmosphere and magic, their teasing and unique gifts, as well as their getaway to some peace and quiet that is thoroughly ruined。I liked their interruptions on important moments, the quirky staff and the boisterous ghosts that crash their time as well as the new victim that cause an impromptu investigation as well as a new mystery to elucidate。 I really liked the conclusion of the night, the moment of respite they get to celebrate, and enjoy their time together。 All that finishes when a new development arises and the prospect of a new dangerous case。I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to see what happens next。 。。。more
